The foreground motif of bouquets of flowers in bright colors, is done in a trompe l'œil printing style that looks like hand-stitched crewel embroidery. 32"W x 66"H with a 18" vertical repeat. 07479: This is a large piece of medium-weight unused fabric from the
1920s. Called soie granité, this fabric is a cotton-silk
blend that has a slightly pebbly texture. The closely-packed,
large-scale dramatic floral motif includes chrysanthemums, dahlias
and zinnias, done in shades of ivory and rose. The background is

06465: Here is an Art Nouveau print with a springtime
freshness and an almost-tropical feel. The fabric is a percale
weight cotton with an off-white background. The background also
features groupings of very pale yellow vertical stripes that
represent a trellis. The foreground motifs
of large-scale blue iris and oversized fern fronds look to be
clinging to the yellow-stripe trellis. A couple of small flaws on each very large piece. 48"W x

08183: Soft shades of blues and golden-tan are used in this 19th
century cotton print that takes its design motifs
from western florals as well as from Kashmiri shawls that were popular with wealthy ladies
in that era. The nicely-balanced pattern in soft tones is almost

07950: This traditional French stripe is made of cretonne
which was the fabric that was the inspiration for American
barkcloth. The background of the wide stripes is a creamy off-white,
while the foreground motif of fuchsia, daisy, dahlia and soft
fern-like plants is done in sugary soft tones of green and pink. The
narrow darker stripes feature tiny climbing vines and buds. Slight

07231: Here is a medium-weight Art Nouveau cotton fabric with a pale gray background
that has fan-like sprays of small flowers, done in
near-white and mauve. The large foreground motif of stylized

fabric
